The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the October 11 Chennai programme includes the inauguration of the Poonamallee–Vadapalani stretch of Chennai Metro Rail Phase II. The official release values the metro stretch at around ₹4,900 crore and notes a 3.7-kilometre double-decker structure.
The wider programme includes development projects worth more than ₹13,000 crore across metro rail, highways, railways, ports, petroleum and education.
