Mahindra says deliveries of the new Thar OG begin from October 11, with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹10.32 lakh and a range of updated equipment and safety features.
MUMBAI, October 11, 2026: Mahindra & Mahindra says deliveries of the Thar OG begin from October 11, following the model’s September announcement. The company lists an introductory price starting at ₹10.32 lakh ex-showroom.
What Mahindra says is new
In its September 22 press release, Mahindra described the Thar OG as a reimagining of its three-door lifestyle SUV. The company highlighted the M_Glyde 4G platform, PENTALINK suspension, DAVINCI damping technology, electronic locking differential, terrain modes, updated grille and cabin materials. The release also lists six airbags, front parking sensors and all-disc brakes.
These are manufacturer claims and specifications; buyers should check the exact equipment fitted to the variant they are considering. Feature availability, pricing and delivery timing can vary by variant, location and dealer stock.
What buyers should consider
Before booking or taking delivery, buyers should confirm the final on-road price, insurance, registration charges, waiting period, warranty terms and the full list of safety and convenience features. An ex-showroom starting price does not include all costs associated with registering and using a vehicle.
Prospective owners should also assess whether the vehicle’s size, fuel costs, seating and boot space suit their everyday needs. Test-driving the intended variant and reviewing official specifications is more useful than relying only on promotional material.
Why the launch matters
The Thar has a distinct position in India’s lifestyle-SUV market. A refreshed model gives Mahindra an opportunity to update equipment while retaining the vehicle’s rugged styling and off-road focus. Customer response and delivery volumes over the coming weeks will provide a better indication of demand than launch announcements alone.
